    Seniors Coach

    BOB RYAN

Taking over from two-time premiership coach Tom Davies in 2025, Bob stepped into his first coaching role and immediately proved to be an outstanding appointment. Under his leadership, the seniors have pushed towards another finals campaign, with Bob injecting fresh energy into the group by blooding new players and building depth for the future.

Bob’s strengths lie in his excellent player management, clear communication, and his genuine desire to make Lancaster a better place for everyone – players, volunteers, and supporters alike. His ability to connect with the playing group while keeping the whole club moving in the same direction has been a huge asset this season.

Adam Lovison returns for his 2nd season as Assistant Coach for the Wombats. Coming to us this season Adam has shown his wealth of knowledge from a career of GVL and Murray League football and elevated the team on field with his defensive prowess and tough physicality in the middle of the ground. His work off field has been equally important, bringing fresh ideas and game styles to implement.

His leadership and talent stood out in his first season with us and we are thrilled to have the Love Shack back on board for season 2026

    Reserves Coach

    PHIL CARROL

Since joining the club, Phil has brought a wealth of football knowledge and a genuine passion for helping everyone improve – both on and off the field. He played a key role in our back-to-back premiership success in 2022 and 2023, before officially stepping into the coaching ranks in 2025 as co-coach of the 2nds alongside Motty.

In 2026, Phil will take the reins as sole coach, bringing his strong leadership and commitment to the role. He’s all about creating an environment where the group enjoys their footy, stays connected, and pushes themselves to develop the skills and consistency needed to challenge for senior selection.

    Thirds Coach

    ZANE SUTTON

Zane began his coaching apprenticeship as an assistant with the Stanhope Thirds in 2022 and 2023, before stepping into the head coach role in 2024. In 2025, he joined Lancaster as assistant coach of our Thirds, bringing his energy, knowledge, and love for developing young footballers.

Zane has a real passion for coaching junior football – not just improving skills, but also ensuring his players enjoy the game. Since crossing over from Stanhope, he’s embraced the Lancaster spirit and has loved being part of the club community. After a season working closely with this current group, Zane now has first-hand insight into their strengths, potential, and what it will take to make them thrive in 2026.

    Under 15s

    MICHAEL MOTT

Motty’s coaching journey is as impressive as it is inspiring. Starting in 2013/14 with St Augustine’s Under 14s, he steered them to a Lightning Premiership before taking out the 2015 Division 2 Under 16 Premiership. From there, he guided Kyabram’s Under 18s to a 3rd placed finish in 2016, before an incredible six-year stint at Lancaster’s Under 18s where he collected two premierships and a runner-up. Since 2023, Motty has added another premiership to the tally coaching 2nds at Lancaster.

But ask Motty, and he’ll tell you his greatest achievement isn’t the silverware – it’s seeing players he’s coached go on to play senior football and win premierships of their own.

Junior Netball Coaching Team

    17 & Under

    CHLOE CHISWELL & MILLIE HILL

We’re so proud to have these two home-grown superstars leading our 17 & Under team as Co-Coaches for the 2026 season.

Chloe has claimed 6 B Grade Best & Fairests (yes, six!), is a multiple top-four League B&F finisher, has played 200 LFNC games, is a premiership player, and now adds several years of junior coaching to her impressive resume.

Millie is a recipient of the KDL League Rising Star Award, has taken out 2 x R/Up A Grade Best & Fairests, is a current A Grade player and was a member of last year’s A Grade premiership runner-up team.

Growing up here at the burrow (they may even bleed blue and gold), they’re natural leaders who know how to bring out the best in young players — blending fun and encouragement with high expectations.

    15 & Under

    SARAH THOMPSON

Sarah brings a wealth of experience to the role — from coaching senior KDL sides and junior KNA, to playing GVL and A Grade KDL. But more than what’s on her résumé, it’s her steady hand, sharp coaching eye, and genuine care for young players that make her the perfect fit for our 15 & Unders.

Calm, organised, and encouraging, Sarah has a rare ability to combine a success-driven netball brain with a nurturing approach that builds confidence and skills.

She may not like the spotlight (she’s as humble as they come!), but we couldn’t be prouder to have her at The Burrow. We can’t wait to see our 15s thrive under her steady guidance this season.

    13 & Under

    BEC DICKER & ELISHA NASH

Bec, a former A Grade coach and player, pulled the boots back on for Lanky in 2025—and now she’s bringing that same dedication to our juniors. Through coaching Junior KNA netball, she discovered a passion for helping young players build skills and confidence. A proud netball tragic herself, she fondly recalls weekends spent on the road for tournaments, and she can’t wait to pass that same love of the game on to our 13s.

Joining her is our returning coach and 2 x R/U Best & Fairest winner, Elisha, who’s fired up after last season’s nail-biting one-goal finals exit. Determined to go one better, she brings patience and drive to help our juniors take the next step (because our heart rates can’t handle another final like that!).

    11 & Under

    FRITZ BUSCH & HAYLEY BUSCH

If there’s such a thing as Lanky netball royalty, it’s Fritz. She arrived at the club in 1981 (do the math!) and never left—winning premierships as a player, guiding A Grade sides to glory, and coaching almost every grade from bottom to top.

Straight-shooting, loyal and passionate, Fritz is now a proud Gran, ready to guide our junior coaches and inspire the next generation of little Lanky superstars.

She’s joined by daughter-in-law Hayley, another true Lanky stalwart. Hayley first pulled on the blue and gold as a junior in 2005, worked her way through to B Grade, and notched up200 games along the way. She’s also coached juniors, and after some time out for family, she’s back—bringing her trademark energy and deep connection to the club.
