Before the Season Begins
Set up the team Players & Care Givers [Current Year] Facebook group and invite all new members - this will be the primary source of communication.
Ensure all new players complete the League requirements and have paid or provided VNA Membership details before taking the court.
Ensure all caregivers and players (where age appropriate) are also members of the [current year] Lancaster Netball Facebook group for general club updates and information.
Ensure all players have paid for LFNC membership.
Liase with the Uniform & Equipment Coordinator to size up players for LFNC dress.
Ensure all players have signed and returned their LFNC Player & Caregiver Agreement.
Take possession of the team game bag, which contains the game ball, patches, a lolly box, and clipboard for tracking rolling subs each week.
Ensure families know and understand their responsibilities, including canteen duty, scoring duty and lolly duty.
Game Days - Home
Take along game bag and ensure all equipment is available and ready to use - check bibs are all present, ensure match ball is pumped up (electric pump can be found in the change shed), and the first aid kit is courtside.
Collect your team's clear A4 plastic pocket from Court 1 scoring desk (it will be in a blue folder box). It contains score sheet x 2, rolling sub sheet, white league voting envelope, yellow LNFC B&F envelope, and team awards envelope.
If not completed by earlier teams, ensure the Court Report is completed before commencement of play.
Collect the white tub from the changing shed containing scoring clipboards, pens, timers and siren. Check the batteries of timers are working.
Ensure both score sheets are filled out with LFNC positions at least 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the match and placed on the score table with clipboards and pens.
Place white league votes envelope and yellow LFNC Best & Fairest Envelopes on the scoring table.
Check if the scorer (for both home & away games) and the timekeeper (for home games only) are aware of their duties and the necessary paperwork.
Ensure two timers and a siren are on the score table for use by the time keeper. Set one timer for match duration, one for injury time (2 minutes) and one for breaks.
Ask each umpire if they are happy to do our LFNC B&F Votes as well as the league votes. Explain that each umpire has a voting slip and can vote 3, 2, 1 for Lancaster players (although some coaches may choose a different voting method).
Track rolling subs during the game on the sheet provided and update scorers with position changes and rolling subs at each quarter break.
Ensure the match ball is given to the umpires.
Have lollies ready for quarter breaks… or risk thirteen-year-old mutiny.
End of Game
Ensure the match ball is returned to the team bag.
Ensure umpires complete the League Best & Fairest Votes and place them in the League envelope. Repeat for Lancaster B&F votes.
Ensure all officials sign and complete the score sheets, including captains.
Return scoresheets, league votes envelope and yellow LFNC B&F envelope to the blue box at Court 1.
Ensure all injuries are registered in the Injury Register.
Write up the final score on the whiteboard outside Lancaster football change rooms (near canteen).
Use the QR code in the game bag to fill out information for the record book, including final score, coaches' awards, and a short summary of the game.
Game Day - Away
As above, with the exception of scoresheets and league votes, as these are the home club’s responsibility.
